Senior Missing from Parx

Massachusetts ‘Gaming’ Future

Here’s what sad about this story. Go to any casino in our country and you will see seniors like this man gambling excessively, and wandering around the casino. You could take a senior in a wheelchair, with oxygen tank attached, a priest next to them giving them their last rights, and as long as they have enough money to put into a slot machine or buy-in at a table game, they could gamble till they drop. And while that’s happening not one casino operator, employee, or casino control board employee whose station in the casino will intervene.

Philadelphia Inquirer - January 5, 2013 - Bensalem police searching for man missing from casino

Police are searching for an 82-year-old man who went missing early Saturday morning from the Parx Casino in Bensalem.

Dominick Paparella, from West Windsor Township in N.J.'s Mercer County, suffers from dementia and was last seen at the casino before 5 a.m. Saturday, after being driven there by his wife. police said.

Paparella's wife was inside the casino when he apparently took the vehicle, a 2001 silver Infiniti I30 with license plate KUK66X. Paparella was last seen driving the car, though he has not driven in over a year.

Paparella is "unaware of locations," police said, and may have traveled outside the tri-state area in an attempt to return to N.J.

Anyone with information is asked to call Bensalem Police at (215) 633-3700, or contact their local police department.
