Fox-Vegas?
(NECN) - Two opposing views in the Massachusetts casino debate: One from John Ribeiro of Winthrop, who's tring to repeal the recently enacted casino law. And in favor of the law is Francis Callahan Jr., president of the Massachusetts Building Trades Council.
Ribeiro argues that much of the casino debate took place behind closed doors, and that in other states, the governments are bailing out the casino industry.
"The estimates of revenue and jobs just aren't there," Ribeiro said.
Callahan disagrees, saying that the Massachusetts law was very heavily debated and discussed for years, and likes the idea of another industry coming into the state.
"It's simply about jobs," he said., saying that the debate has occurred on Beacon Hill for 18 years and the law has been well vetted.
