Judge in Nevada Dismisses Bally Antitrust Claim
Judge in Nevada dismisses antitrust claim brought by Bally against rival slot machine maker
A federal appeals court has dismissed a 6-year-old antitrust lawsuit between rival slot machine makers International Game Technology and Bally Technologies Inc.
United States District Court Judge Robert Jones of Reno issued an order Monday in favor of IGT in an antitrust claim brought by Bally.
Jones also ruled that an IGT patent was invalid, and dismissed Bally's counterclaim to invalidate another IGT patent.
IGT sued Bally in 2004, claiming its rival infringed on six IGT patents concerning bonus-wheel gambling machines.
Bally countered that IGT was attempting to monopolize the market.
