HARTFORD (AP) -- Connecticut's two tribal casinos reported flat or declining slot machine revenue and reduced slot machine bets in May.

Foxwoods Resort Casino reported slot machine revenue of $43.2 million, down by about $500,000, or 1.2 percent from the same month last year.

Slot machine bets of $532 million declined 1.8 percent from May 2014.

The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, which operates the Mohegan Sun, reported slot revenue of $51.7 million, up a scant $17,000 from May 2014, or essentially flat. Slot machine bets of $621.7 million were down from $637.1 million in the same month last year.

The two casinos continue to struggle with a long-running slide in revenue as gamblers seek numerous alternatives in the Northeast.
