What if ....?

What if the voters, taxpayers and residents of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts had been offered an Independent Cost Benefit Analysis of the

BIG DIG

and an opportunity to have an open and transparent public discussion about the actual costs.....?

Would we be saddled with + $20 Billion to pass along to the next generation to pay?

Maybe it's pretty. Does it benefit Middleboro? Does it benefit most of the state?

Remember the

when you hear the Speaker of the House tell you about gambling.

The legislative leadership that can't walk and chew gum at the same time is going to assure you they can negotiate, oversee, regulate, audit, investigate, prosecute, .... with sharks, yeah, right!

Three predecessors of the current Speaker of the House have left office under indictment.

.

When an elected official hasn't figured out, at the risk of his own party, that only 3% of voters favor slots at race tracks, don't you just kinda wonder?

Why would any elected official oppose an Independent Cost Benefit Analysis that has never been done?

Would it be horribly cynical to wonder what we don't know? Is this the Fourth Speaker who is doomed?
