Casino backers want your money

The casino ads on TV don’t tell the whole story. The casino proponents aren’t really interested in creating more jobs; they just want more of Ohio’s money. They don’t really care that money is leaving Ohio; they just want to move it from your pocket to theirs.

The real truth is that casinos create losers, increase poverty, and destroy families and communities. Someone has to lose for others to win. Statistically, poor families pay a greater share of the costs involved with gambling. Communities where casinos have located have seen divorces, gambling addiction, homelessness, crime, and child protection cases increase while watching local businesses close.

It is the gambling industry that will benefit the most. They want more states and more casinos so that it will be easier to take more of America’s money. Let’s use our money to create real jobs that will add to real productivity and not ones that just create more problems at the taxpayers’ expense. Vote no on Issue 3.
