Norwich programs tackle problem gambling

Norwich programs tackle problem gambling

Norwich – United Community and Family Service will present two programs during Problem Gambling Awareness Week next month.

On March 5, Thomas Broffman will present, "Everything You Wanted to Know About Problem Gambling But Were Afraid to Ask." Broffman is assistant professor at Eastern Connecticut State University and a chemical dependency consultant at the Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals.

On March 9, Susan McLaughlin, prevention services coordinator for problem gambling services at the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, will present, "The Who, What and Why of Youth and Underage Gambling in Connecticut. Both programs will be from noon to 1 p.m.. Lunch will be provided.

The programs will take place at The Edward & Mary Lord Family Health Center at UCFS, 47 Town St. Those planning to attend should RSVP to Pam Kinder at (860) 822-4146 or pkinder@ucfs.org
